In the initially week our family members stayed in a holiday getaway home in Sarzeau. Our lodging for the second 7 days was a getaway residence in Trélévern, north of Brittany.

Hence, we decided to stay 6 nights in Trélévern as a substitute of the 7 days prepared originally and booked one night time in the Mercure Hotel near Mont St. Michel. As a final result of this adjustment, we experienced a great deal of time to discover Mont St. Michel.

Just before heading back again to Germany, we stayed in IBIS at Chalon en Champagne for yet another night to reduce potential stress.

Port Navalo’s coastal route passes about the headland around the restaurant Côté Mer. The moderately trafficked walking trail offers views of the Quiberon peninsular and the rocky shoreline.

Arzon

Soon after lunch at Port Navalo, on the way back again to our holiday getaway residence in Sarzeau, we stopped at Arzon for a small crack.

Moulin De Pen Castel

We ongoing driving together the northeast of the peninsular and passed a modest windmill property, Moulin De Pen Castel (a tidal power station). Inside the constructing, there is an artwork gallery.

Oyster farm (Pointe de I’Ours, Sarzeau)

The landlord of our holiday residence instructed us about Les Fruits De Mer, an oyster farm near Pointe de l’Ours, Sarzeau. Sad to say, the manufacturing unit and its restaurant do not open right until 18:00. Nevertheless, the sunset sights at the Pointe de l’Ours were the ideal for the close of that working day.

Carnac standing stones

Carnac is recognized for its one of a kind rows of some 3000 historic standing stones positioned in descending purchase, and each individual alignment ends on a megalithic stone circle.

Not far from Port Maria is the Chateau Turpault, a private manor with a good image option through the substantial tides. Immediately after Port Guibello and Plage Port Bara, eventually we arrived at our highlight of the day, Arche De Port Blanc Roche Percée.

3rd Day: Belle‑Ile, the wonderful island

Belle-Île-en-Mer is the largest island in Brittany on the French Atlantic coastline. Close to the island are tiny harbours and pretty seashores linked to sheltered coves and cliffs. In the off-year, we had to choose the earliest ferry on that working day, departure at 8:15 and arriving at the island in 45 minutes. As prepared, we rented an electric powered motor vehicle to explore the island.

All around lunchtime, we arrived at Port de Sauzon, a smaller fishing port. In the length, and saw the restaurant Creperie Les Embruns was just open up. It features an huge range of Galletes (a typical Breton food items) in sweet and salty variations.

La Belle-Iloise fish cannery

The fish cannery at Quiberon has hundreds of many years of history. It provides generally sardine and tuna merchandise. Most merchandise are only sold right from the factory or its stores. We joined a fast guided tour and acquired nearly 200 Euros of canned fish merchandise.

Saint-Cado (Île de Saint-Cado)

Saint-Cado islet (Île de Saint-Cado) in Morbihan lies a handful of kilometres from Lorient. In the heart of the Etel river, linked to the land by way of a famous stone bridge, the village is a hidden treasure of Brittany. It only usually takes about 15 minutes to walk about the Saint-Cado islet. Even so, as the magical environment of the landscape had captivated us so much, we finally spent two hours on the little islet.

Swim at Plage Des Govelins

The weather was enjoyable, and it was still very early in the afternoon. Some nearby people had been swimming in the vicinity of the beach front. The air temperature was higher in the autumn, but the h2o was not. We stayed in the h2o for only five minutes, but the h2o was far too cold for a swim!

5th Working day: Domaine de Suscinio, Salt Marshes Museum, and Salt marshes all around Guerande

Domaine de Suscinio

The path from Suscinio Castle to the Atlantic Coast passes a guarded all-natural area, which includes the Suscinio Castle, birdwatching platform, an Atlantic coastal see, and a vibrant lagoon.

Salt Marshes Museum

The Salt Marshes Museum in Batz-sur-Mer has huge facts about how salt-pans run, the heritage of Guerande salt, and shares the lifestyle of a salt worker in the 19th century.

Salt marshes about Guerande

Salt marshes all over Guerande are enormous! Streets across the salt marshes, creating website visitors explore the space conveniently. We parked our motor vehicle somewhere in the centre and captured the sunset scenes of the salt marshes, a fabulous knowledge for us! In summer time, people can be part of a tour to learn about salt harvesting and visit a salt pond with a paludier (salt harvester).

6th Working day: Vannes old city

Right after various times of nature exploration following our street trip itinerary for Brittany, we felt fatigued and longed for a leisurely outing in Vannes Aged City. Getting the funds of Morbihan, Vannes old town has a pretty port, medieval architecture, attractive gardens, squares, food items scene to find out.

7th Working day: Ville Near (Concarneau), Trélévern

Ville Close (Concarneau)

On the way to the up coming household in Trélévern, we manufactured our stopover at Concarneau and frequented its fortified island, the Ville Close. Trélévern

As planned, we arrived at the getaway house about 17:00.

8th Day: Ploumanac’h pink rock hiking trail, Port de Trébeurden, and Île-Grande

Ploumanac’h pink rock climbing path

1 of my ideal reminiscences from our street excursion together the Brittany’s coastline is the hiking encounter at the Ploumanac’h on the Pink Granite Coastline. We started from the lighthouse to the Dragon’s Head and the Côte de granite rose parking good deal. Along the path, there are various viewpoints where visitors can notice eccentric rocks rising from the sea.

Port de Trébeurden

Following lunch at Plage de Trestraou, the seashore of Perros-Guirec, we went to Port de Trébeurden, west of the tiny island l’Île Milliau. When it is minimal tide, website visitors can walk to the island. But as we arrived there in the afternoon, the drinking water had already flooded the walkway.

Le gouffre de Plougrescant

An interesting web page is a small home, Petite Maison du Gouffre (also called Castel Meur), a nicely-regarded photo object in Brittany. The tiny residence, manufactured in 1861, is between two jagged rocks that appear to crush the stone household. The front of the dwelling faces the saltwater pond.

Treguier

The minimal city is the birthplace of St Yves, the patron saint of legal professionals. Moreover, it has a splendid cathedral, a really harbour, and 50 %-timbered properties courting from the 15th century. We had a uncomplicated lunch in a neighborhood restaurant. Our buddy purchased the Chef’s Advice, and it turned out to be the Andouille, a standard sausage whose components are pig chitterlings, tripe, onions, wine, and seasoning. It experienced this kind of a distinctive odor that none of us could bear it!

La Roche‑Derrien

The centre of La Roche-Derren is desirable with numerous intriguing medieval half-timbered houses. La Roche‑Derrien’s highest issue is the Chapel of the Calvary.

Plage de Trestel

The seashore of Plage de Trestel is flat with white sands. Some people today were being participating in with kites. Other folks were jogging. Devoid of a 2nd assumed, we rushed to the beach front but have been stunned by lots of bizarre “sandworms” on the beach. Acquiring had a closed search, we recognized all those have been the sands pushed out by the worms below the sands.

11th Working day: Lannion and Château de la Roche-Jagu

Lannion

Squares, cobbled alleyways, 50 percent-timbered houses, or slate homes with sculpted decorations in Lannion present the ambiance of the former medieval town. Later, I discovered that all-around 1 hundred higher-tech providers and study centres are in Lannion.

Château de la RocheJagu (Domaine de la roche jagu)

The Château de la Roche-Jagu is a 15th-century fortified house surrounded by many parks and gardens. Committed walkways pass sites this kind of as a forest place, an oak grove, vegetable backyard garden, medicinal plant backyard garden, a fishpond, and so on.

Paimpol

The quite parts of Paimpol are close to the harbour and the streets of the historic centre. Restaurants at the harbour entrance offer you scrumptious seafood. Our lunch was a seafood plate, together with crab, oyster, langoustines, clams, and so on. It price tag only 38 Euros.

Abbaye de Beauport bears witness to 600 yrs of spiritual history. It handles in excess of 100 hectares of shoreline, composed of several natural habitats: reed beds, rocky shores, salt marshes, and marshland. More inland, the estate is a patchwork of woods, streams, and lakes.

Dinan

On the way to Mont St. Michel, we took the probability to stop by Dinan, a picturesque investing city identified for its medieval ramparts, cobblestone streets, and 50 percent-timbered homes. The ramparts are the oldest and most amazing in Brittany. However, portion of the ramparts was undergoing fix operate and therefore closed to the community.

Mont St. Michel

In the late afternoon of that day, we arrived at the Mercure Hotel in close proximity to Mont St. Michel. The temperature was not so pleasurable. However, we still used the rest of the day on that magic island.

14th Working day: Mont St. Michel

In the early early morning, we hurried to capture the morning scenes of the Mont St. Michel. Right after breakfast, we went to the island and frequented the abbey. There are many photographic spots around and on the island. We stayed on the island lengthier than anticipated and checked-in IBIS at Chalon en Champagne quite late.
