RAVE to the tugboats of Puget Sound and the maritime architects who layout them! With big tugs releasing the Suez Canal cargo ship, I am reminded of the heroic tugs who saved the Interstate 90 bridge in 1990. I’ll by no means overlook observing the line of tugs steaming evening […]

RAVE to the tugboats of Puget Sound and the maritime architects who layout them! With big tugs releasing the Suez Canal cargo ship, I am reminded of the heroic tugs who saved the Interstate 90 bridge in 1990. I’ll by no means overlook observing the line of tugs steaming evening and working day to hold the wind-damaged span in place! Bravo to hardworking tug crews!

RANT to the maskless family members at a very popular ’50s-fashion diner in Issaquah very last Saturday. There ended up a large amount of consumers, all ready to order in the sunshine and putting on masks. The family members refused to don masks at all, even following staying asked. The father insisted on ordering, and the weak cashier could only do so significantly. No mask? Just stay household then.

RAVE to the a cappella group of numerous adult males who were being rehearsing — masked and spaced a socially distanced 20 ft or so apart — last week at the previous Sunset Faculty Park coated playground in Shoreline. What a address to listen to though on my neighborhood walk. Wow! I’m wanting to know who these talented people today are?! Their blended voices were being chic!

RANT to the Washington State Office of Transportation for failing to rectify the poor and risky driving ailments in the I-90 tunnels throughout Lake Washington and Mercer Island. The lights is quite dim and diverse, and the white paint separating the slim, curving lanes is faded and challenging to discern from the gray concrete roadway.

RAVE to Seattle Parks and Recreation for the attractive show of daffodils all the way all over Green Lake. They are in bloom and a welcome way to remind us that spring is right here!

RANT to the King County Metro Excursion Planner for its deteriorated website that will not allow for 1 to find a fair bus route. I am nearly 80, really don’t have a auto and trip the bus. The routes they counsel are insufficient if not outlandish, and routinely it will say there are no options. When I simply call, the staffer can give me excellent vacation details, but I can no extended use the on the web Vacation Planner. I never realize why they are performing this.

RAVE to the EMT who encountered two aged females hunting for instructions for their COVID-19 vaccinations. Following she could see they were way too panicked to observe her instructions, she provided to drive them to the web site. Immediately after they received their vaccinations, she supplied to travel them to their adhere to-up appointment as perfectly. Becoming way too youthful to get hers, she merely stated that she wished to aid the vaccinating exertion any way she could.

RANT to road racing. It’s time Seattle took actions to crack down on it as other cities are performing. Not only is it perilous, but it is frequently damaging and disturbing to the neighborhood. It has been going on a short while ago in the University District. A excellent resolution may possibly be that people cited have their driver’s licenses taken absent for a 12 months!
