New monument honors Texas rockers and fateful ’50s tour

A new monument honoring early rock ‘n roll legends was unveiled in Kenosha, Wisconsin Tuesday.

The famous Winter season Dance Party Tour of 1959 that highlighted Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Large Bopper and Dion and The Belmonts is now forever memorialized with a uniquely made artistic metal guitar. It is really located just outdoors the previous Eagle’s Club where by the Kenosha live performance took location.

The Massive Bopper, whose serious identify is J.P. Richardson, is a Beaumont native. Holly, the most famous of the singers, was from Lubbock, Texas.
